The dream about starting the Jacques Kallis Scholarship Foundation Trust started when Jacques got offered a benefit year in 2006 by The Western province Cricket Association. The events took place, and with those funds we contracted our first students at the four schools. We had a vision, but to to implement this was another thing. We were very reliant on the information from the headmasters in the various schools as to the students we should be contracting. A huge thank you must go to Keith Richardson ( Wynberg High school head) for his assistance.
Now 6 years down the track, many students have gone to the various schools. For me it has been amazing to see young boys eventually matriculate as adults and start careers in the various fields that interest them. Some as cricketers, but more importantly all of them having got an education and possibly a start in life. That is why I got involved. To try and make a difference. Hopefully Jacques dream will come through at some stage and i could be part of it.
